January, 2024 – “Like a fish needs a bicycle…”

January, 2024 – Been sitting on this one for a few months, but happy to finally make it official! This March, I will be returning to perform in a play near and dear to my heart- “Gloria: A Life”. A joint production between OffBook Productions and The Strollers of Maplewood NJ, we run two weeks: March – 8th-16th.

This biographical two act show tells the life story of Gloria Steinem- women’s rights activist, trailblazing journalist, Ms. Magazine founder, and… yes, yes, she DID once go undercover as a Playboy bunny to expose the ridiculous labor conditions at dear Mr. Heffner’s infamous chain of “gentleman’s clubs.” I first performed the piece in July of 2022 and I am beyond grateful to OffBook Productions’ artistic director Laura Iacometta for the chance to step into the great Ms. Steinem’s shoes one more time.

Explaining what this show (and Gloria herself) mean to me would NOT make for a short blog update by any means, so I’ll save the “deep dive” for later entries. For now, however, suffice is to say this is hyper relevant theater- particularly as we head into what is sure to be a hairy, wildly emotional election year. I look forward to telling Gloria’s story during this time. It so beautifully speaks to where our country has been, where we’ve evolved to, and asks a lot of important, uncomfortable questions about “what’s next?”
